Introduction
This Privacy Notice describes how WrenchWay collects and uses Personal Data about you through the use of our Platform, and through email, text, and other electronic communications between you and WrenchWay.
WrenchWay, LLC (“WrenchWay” or “we” or “us”) respects your privacy and are committed to protecting it through our compliance with this policy.
This Privacy Notice (our “Privacy Notice”) describes the types of information we may collect from you or that you may provide when you visit any of our sites or apps which include www.wrenchway.com, myshop.wrenchway.com, any subdomain of such websites, and the WrenchWay mobile application (collectively the “Platform”) and our practices for collecting, using, maintaining, protecting, and disclosing that information.
This policy applies to information we collect:
- on our Platform;
- in email, text, and other electronic messages between you and our Platform;
- when you contact us by telephone; and
- when you interact with our advertising and applications on third-party websites and services, if those applications or advertising include links to this policy.
It does not apply to information collected by:
- any third party, including through any application or content (including advertising) that may link to or be accessible from or on the Platform.
Our Platform includes optional features that allow student users ages 13 and older to create résumés and to receive messages from verified shops and dealerships (“Shops”) through our internal messaging tools. This Privacy Notice applies to our collection and use of personal data in connection with these features.
Please read this Privacy Notice carefully to understand our policies and practices regarding your information and how we will treat it. If you do not agree with our policies and practices, your choice is not to use our Platform. By accessing or using the Platform, you agree to this Privacy Notice. This Privacy Notice may change from time to time. Your continued use of the Platform after we make changes is deemed to be acceptance of those changes, so please check this Privacy Notice periodically for updates.
Children Under the Age of 13
Our Platform is not intended for children under the age of 13 and children under the age of 13 are not permitted to use the Platform. We will remove any information about a child under the age of 13 if we become aware of it.
Our Platform is intended for children under 13 years of age. No one under age 13 may provide any information to or on the Platform We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13. If you are under 13, do not use or provide any information on our Platform or on or through any of its features/register on the Platform or, use any of the interactive or public comment features of our Platform or provide any information about yourself to us, including your name, address, telephone number, email address, or any screen name or user name you may use. If we learn we have collected or received Personal Data from a child under 13 without verification of parental consent, we will delete that information. If you believe we might have any information directly from a child under 13, please contact us at info@wrenchway.com.
Minors Ages 13–17
Our Platform may be used by individuals who are at least 13 years old. Certain features, including student résumés and messaging with Shops, are available to users ages 13–17 for educational and career-exploration purposes.
If you are between 13 and 17 years old, you should review this Privacy Notice with a parent or legal guardian. We encourage parents and guardians to be aware of and involved in their child’s use of the Platform.
For users under 18, we do not publicly display personal contact information such as phone numbers, home addresses, or personal email addresses on résumés. Communications between student users under 18 and Shops occur only through WrenchWay’s internal messaging tools.
Parents and guardians may request access to, or deletion of, a minor user’s account, résumé, or messages by contacting us at info@wrenchway.com and including “Minor Account Request” in the subject line.
Information We Collect About You and How We Collect It
We collect different types of information about you, including information that may directly identify you, information that is about you but individually does not personally identify you, and information that we combine with our other users. This includes information that we collect directly from you or through automated collection technologies.
Throughout this Privacy Notice, the term “Personal Data” means any information that identifies, relates to, describes, references, is capable of being associated with, or could reasonably be linked, directly or indirectly, with a particular individual or device. However, Personal Data does not include any deidentified or aggregated information.
Generally
- We collect Personal Data from various sources, including:
- directly from you when you provide it to us; and
- automatically as you navigate through the Platform. Information collected automatically may include usage details, IP addresses, and information collected through cookies, web beacons, geolocation data, information associated with your Apple iTunes or Google Play accounts or any other account used to download or access our mobile applications, and other tracking technologies; information that we create about you as you use our Platform; and
- from third parties, for example, our business partners.
Information You Provide to Us
We collect the following types of Personal Data directly from you when you access or use our Platform: real name, username/alias, email address, telephone number, company name, company mailing address and postal code, and any other identifier by which you may be contacted online or offline. In addition, we also collect other types of information that you may provide when you fill out a form or through your correspondence with us.
The Personal Data we collect on or through our Platform through:
- information that you provide by filling in forms on our Platform. This includes information provided at the time of registering to use our Platform, subscribing to premium service, posting material, or requesting further services. We may also ask you for information when you enter a contest or promotion sponsored by us, and when you report a problem with our Platform;
- user contributions including information you choose to transmit or send to other users of the Platform;
- records and copies of your correspondence (including email addresses), if you contact us;
- your responses to surveys that we might ask you to complete for research purposes; and
- Payment information and details of your order, such as credit card or other payment card information provided to pay for the premium version of the Platform. However, we do not receive this information itself. Payment card information is transmitted directly to one of our third-party payment card processors (Stripe, Wind River Financial, or Intuit), through an Internet connection secured by industry-standard Secure Socket Layer (SSL) encryption technology. Stripe then communicates to us whether your payment has cleared, but does not provide payment card information to us. For any additional questions, we encourage you to review Stripe’s privacy policy available on their website.
- Student résumé information. If you choose to create a student résumé, we collect the information you provide in that résumé, such as your name, city and state, school, graduation year, coursework, certifications, work experience, skills, and career interests. For users under 18, we instruct you not to include personal contact information (such as phone number, home address, or personal email address) in your résumé.
You also may provide information to be published or displayed (hereinafter, “posted”) on public areas of the Platform or transmitted to other users of the Platform (collectively, “User Contributions”). Your User Contributions are posted on and transmitted to others at your own risk. Although we limit access to certain pages, please be aware that no security measures are perfect or impenetrable. Additionally, we cannot control the actions of other users of the Platform with whom you may choose to share your User Contributions. Therefore, we cannot and do not guarantee that your User Contributions will not be viewed by unauthorized persons.
Information We Collect Through Automatic Data Collection Technologies
As you navigate through and interact with our Platform, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your equipment, browsing actions, and patterns, specifically:
- Log and Usage Equipment Information. As you navigate through and interact with our Platform, we may use automatic data collection technologies to collect certain information about your computer and internet connection, including your IP address, operating system, browser type, and other usage details; and
- Mobile Device Information. Information about your mobile device, and Internet connection, specifically your IP address, operating system, browser type, and application version information. With your consent, we may access certain native applications on your device such as the camera, address book, or calendar applications in order to facilitate your use of certain features of the Services.
The information we collect automatically may include Personal Data, or we may maintain it or associate it with Personal Data we collect in other ways or receive from third parties. It helps us to improve our Platform and to deliver a better and more personalized service by enabling us to:
- Estimate our audience size and usage patterns;
- Store information about your preferences, allowing us to customize our Platform according to your individual interests;
- Speed up your searches; and
- Recognize you when you return to our Platform.
The technologies we use for this automatic data collection may include:
- Google Analytics. We use Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, Inc. (“Google”) to collect certain information whenever you interact with our Platform through your computer or mobile device. Google Analytics uses “cookies” (see below) to help the Platform analyze how users use the Platform. You can find out more about how Google uses data when you visit our Platform, by visiting “How Google uses data when you use our partners’ sites or apps”, (located at google.com/policies/privacy/partners/). We may also use Google Analytics Advertising Features to provide you with interest-based advertising based on your online activity. For more information regarding Google Analytics please visit Google’s website, and pages that describe Google Analytics, such as www.google.com/analytics/learn/privacy.html. To learn more about interest-based advertisements and your opt-out rights and options, visit the Digital Advertising Alliance and the Network Advertising Initiative websites (www.aboutads.info and www.networkadvertising.org). Please note that if you choose to opt out, you will continue to see ads on our Services, but they will not be based on how you browse and shop;
- Google Ads (AdWords). Google Ads (AdWords) remarketing service is provided by Google Inc. You can opt-out of Google Analytics for Display Advertising and customize the Google Display Network ads by visiting the Google Ads Settings page: http://www.google.com/settings/ads. Google also recommends installing the Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on – https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout – for your web browser. Google Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on provides visitors with the ability to prevent their data from being collected and used by Google Analytics. - Facebook Pixel and Instagram. We use Facebook Pixel and Instagram, a web analytics and advertising service provided by Facebook Inc. (“Facebook”) on our Platform. With its help, we and our customers can keep track of what users do after they see or click on a Facebook or Instagram advertisement, keep track of users who access our Platform or advertisements from different devices, and better provide advertisements to our target audiences. The data from Facebook Pixel and Instagram is also saved and processed by Facebook. Facebook can connect this data with your Facebook or Instagram account and use it for its own and others advertising purposes, in accordance with Facebook’s Data Policy which can be found at https://www.facebook.com/about/privacy/. - Hubspot. We use Hubspot, a service provided by Hubspot, Inc. Hubspot uses web beacons and cookies stored on your computer and enabled to allow us to analyze the use of our Platform. HubSpot evaluates the collected information (e.g. IP address, geographical location, type of browser, duration of the visit, and pages accessed) on our behalf in order to generate reports on the visit and the pages visited. If you generally do not want HubSpot to collect data, you can prevent cookies from being stored at any time using your browser settings.
- Cookies (or browser cookies). A cookie is a small file placed on the hard drive of your computer. Our Platform may use both session cookies (which expire once you close your browser) and persistent cookies (which stay on your computer until you delete them) to provide you with a more personal and interactive experience on our Platform. You may refuse all or some browser cookies, however, if you do not consent to our use of cookies or select this setting you may be unable to access certain parts of our Platform. Unless you have adjusted your browser setting so that it will refuse cookies, our system will issue cookies when you direct your browser to our Platform. You can find more information about cookies at http://www.allaboutcookies.org.
- Flash Cookies. Certain features of our Platform may use local stored objects (or Flash cookies) to collect and store information about your preferences and navigation to, from, and on our Platform. Flash cookies are not managed by the same browser settings as are used for browser cookies. - Web Beacons. Pages of our Platform and our e-mails may contain small electronic files known as web beacons (also referred to as clear gifs, pixel tags, and single-pixel gifs) that permit WrenchWay, for example, to count users who have visited those pages or opened an email and for other related Platform statistics (for example, recording the popularity of certain Platform content and verifying system and server integrity).
Third-Party Use of Cookies and Other Tracking Technologies
We use third party analytics to help us measure traffic and usage trends for the Platform. These third parties may use cookies alone or in conjunction with web beacons or other tracking technologies to collect information about you when you use our Platform. The information they collect may be associated with your Personal Data or they may collect information, including Personal Data, about your online activities over time and across different websites and other online services. They may use this information to provide you with interest-based (behavioral) advertising or other targeted content.
We do not control these third parties’ tracking technologies or how they may be used. If you have any questions about an advertisement or other targeted content, you should contact the responsible provider directly. How We Use Your Information
We use your Personal Data for various purposes described below, including to:
- provide our Platform and its contents to you;
- provide you with information and services you request from us;
- enforce our rights arising from contracts;
- notify you about changes;
- provide you with notices about your account;
- maintain and improve our Platform and services;
- respond to your inquiries;
- to provide student résumé and messaging features. We use the information you provide in your student résumé, and information about your use of our internal messaging tools, to make your résumé available to verified Shops, to allow Shops to contact you through the Platform, and to help facilitate educational and career-exploration opportunities. For users under 18, we limit the use and disclosure of résumé and messaging information to what is reasonably necessary to provide these features, maintain the security and integrity of the Platform, and comply with legal obligations; and
- any other purpose with your consent or as described when you provided the information.
We use information that we collect about you or that you provide to us, including any Personal Data:
- to present our Platform and its contents to you;
- to provide you with information or services that you request from us;
- to respond to your comments or questions;
- to provide you with information, products, or services that you request from us or that may be of interest to you;
- to provide you with notices about your account or subscription, including expiration and renewal notices;
- to carry out our obligations and enforce our rights arising from any contracts entered into between you and us, including for billing and collection;
- to notify you about changes to our Platform or any services we offer or provide though them;
- to maintain, secure, or improve our Platform and services;
- in any other way we may describe when you provide the information;
- to fulfill any other purpose for which you provide it; and
- for any other purpose with your consent.
We may use the information we have collected from you to enable us to display advertisements to our advertisers’ target audiences. Even though we do not disclose your Personal Data for these purposes without your consent, if you click on or otherwise interact with an advertisement, the advertiser may assume that you meet its target criteria.
Disclosure of Your Information
We do not share, sell, or otherwise disclose your Personal Data for purposes other than those outlined in this Privacy Notice. We disclose your Personal Data to a few third parties, including:
- our subsidiaries and our affiliates;
- our third-party service providers that we use to support our business;
- to a company we merge, acquire, or that buys us, or in the event of change in structure of WrenchWay of any form;
- to comply with our legal obligations;
- to enforce our rights; and
- with your consent.
We do not share, sell, or otherwise disclose your Personal Data for purposes other than those outlined in this Privacy Notice. However, we may disclose aggregated information about our users and information that does not identify any individual, without restriction.
We may disclose Personal Data that we collect or you provide as described in this Privacy Notice:
- to our subsidiaries and affiliates;
- to contractors, service providers, and other third parties we use to support our business and who are bound by contractual obligations to keep Personal Data confidential and use it only for the purposes for which we disclose it to them;
- to a potential or actual buyer or other successor in the event of a planned or actual merger, divestiture, restructuring, reorganization, dissolution, or other sale or transfer of some or all of WrenchWay’s assets, whether as a going concern or as part of bankruptcy, liquidation, or similar proceeding, in which Personal Data held by WrenchWay about our Platform’ users is among the assets transferred; and
- to fulfill the purpose for which you provide it;
- for any other purpose disclosed by us when you provide the information; and
- with your consent.
We may also disclose your Personal Data:
- to comply with any court order, law, or legal process, including to respond to any government or regulatory request;
- to enforce or apply our terms of use and other agreements, including for billing and collection purposes; and
- if we believe disclosure is necessary or appropriate to protect the rights, property, or safety of WrenchWay, our customers, or others. This includes exchanging information with other companies and organizations for the purposes of fraud protection and credit risk reduction.
If you create a student résumé, we share that résumé with verified Shops on the Platform so that they can view your résumé and contact you through our internal messaging tools. Résumés of users under 18 are not publicly searchable and are not visible to unverified users. We do not sell or share the personal data of users we know are under 18 for cross-context behavioral advertising or other third-party marketing purposes.
Choices About How We Use and Disclose Your Information
We offer you choices on how you can opt out of our use of tracking technology and our advertising to you. However, we do not control the collection and use of your information collected by third parties.
We do not control the collection and use of your information collected by third parties described above in Disclosure of Your Information. When possible, these organizations are under contractual obligations to use this data only for providing the services to us and to maintain this information strictly confidential. These third parties may, however, aggregate the information they collect with information from their other customers for their own purposes.
In addition, we strive to provide you with choices regarding the Personal Data you provide to us. We have created mechanisms to provide you with control over your Personal Data:
- Tracking Technologies and Advertising. You can set your browser to refuse all or some browser cookies, or to alert you when cookies are being sent. If you disable or refuse cookies, please note that some parts of the Platform may then be inaccessible or not function properly.
- Promotional Offers from WrenchWay. If you do not want us to promote our own or third parties’ products or services via email to you, you may opt-out by checking the relevant box located on the form on which we collect your data, by selecting the “unsubscribe” link located in the promotional communication, or at any other time by logging into the Platform and adjusting your user preferences in your account profile by checking or unchecking the relevant boxes or by sending us an email stating your request to info@wrenchway.com.
- Location Information. You can choose whether or not to allow our Platform to collect and use real-time information about your device’s location through the device’s privacy settings. For example, the “location” permissions on your mobile device may allow you to elect to never share location information with us, share location information only while you are using our Mobile App, or always share location information even if you are not using our Mobile App. If you elect not to share your location information, you may be unable to access some features of our Platform.
You can learn more about interest-based advertisements and your opt-out rights and options from members of the Network Advertising Initiative (“NAI”) on its website (www.networkadvertising.org) and from members of the Digital Advertising Alliance on its website (www.aboutads.info). We do not control third parties’ collection or use of your information to serve interest-based advertising. However, these third parties may provide you with ways to choose not to have your information collected or used in this way. You can also opt out of receiving targeted ads from members of the NAI on its website.

Accessing, Correcting, and Deleting Your Personal Data
You may request to access, correct, and delete your Personal Data by logging into the Platform and accessing your account profile page or by contacting us at the contact information below. However, we cannot accommodate a request to change your Personal Data if we believe that such change would either violate a legal obligation or cause the Personal Data to be incorrect.
You can review and change your Personal Data by logging into the Platform and visiting your account profile page.
You may also send us an email at info@wrenchway.com to request access to, correct or delete any Personal Data that you have provided to us. We cannot delete your Personal Data except by also deleting your user account. We may not accommodate a request to change information if we believe the change would violate any law or legal requirement or cause the information to be incorrect.
If you delete your User Contributions from the Platform, copies of your User Contributions may remain viewable in cached and archived pages, or might have been copied or stored by other Platform users.
Your California Privacy Rights
Under some circumstances, California law may provide you with the right to obtain a list of third parties (if any) that we provide your Personal Data to for their own direct marketing purposes.
If you use our Platform when you are under the age of 18, you may request that we remove your User Contributions under certain circumstances. We do not advertise or market any goods and services that are identified as being inappropriate for children under the age of 18.
California Civil Code Section 1798.83 (California’s “Shine the Light” law) permits users of our Platform that are California residents and who provide Personal Data in obtaining products and services for personal, family, or household use to request certain information regarding our disclosure of Personal Data to third parties for their own direct marketing purposes. If applicable, this information would include the categories of Personal Data and the names and addresses of those businesses with which we shared your Personal Data with for the immediately prior calendar year (e.g., requests made in 2022 will receive information regarding such activities in 2021). California law permits minors under the age of 18 to request the removal of your User Contributions, subject to certain exceptions. If you are under the age of 18 in California, you may contact us using the Contact Information below (if you contact us via email, please use the subject “California Eraser Law Request”). We may not remove your User Contributions that we are required to retain under any federal or state law, or that have been provided to a third party. While we will do our best to remove a minor’s information upon a valid request, we cannot ensure the complete or comprehensive removal of your User Contributions from our Platform or any information that has been republished, copied, downloaded, or reposted by any third party, and we cannot guarantee that any such information may not be accessible to users of the Internet in the future. We do not advertise or market any of the products or services identified in California Business and Professionals Code Section 22580(i) to users who we have actual knowledge are under 18 years of age.
Additional Rights for Parents and Guardians of Minors (Ages 13–17)
If your child is between 13 and 17 years old and has created an account or student résumé on our Platform, you may request access to the personal information we have collected from your child, request deletion of such information, or request that we disable messaging or résumé visibility for their account. To protect user privacy, we will require sufficient information to verify your identity and your relationship to the minor before processing your request.

Do Not Track Signals
We may use automated data collection technologies to track you across Platform. We currently do not honor do-not-track signals that may be sent by some browsers.
We also may use automated data collection technologies to collect information about your online activities over time and across third-party Platform or other online services (behavioral tracking). Some web browsers permit you to broadcast a signal to Platform and online services indicating a preference that they “do not track” your online activities. At this time, we do not honor such signals and we do not modify what information we collect or how we use that information based upon whether such a signal is broadcast or received by us.
Data Security
Information transmitted over the Internet is not completely secure, but we do our best to protect your Personal Data. You can help protect your Personal Data and other information by keeping your password to our Platform confidential.
We have implemented measures designed to secure your personal information from accidental loss and from unauthorized access, use, alteration, and disclosure. All information you provide to us and all User Contributions will be protected during transmission and once received, using commercially reasonable industry standard encryption. Users who communicate through email will receive emails which include User Contributions are sent through a third-party email provider, Sendgrid.
The safety and security of your information also depends on you. Where you have chosen a username and password for access to certain parts of our Platform, you are responsible for keeping your username and password confidential. We ask you not to share your username and password with anyone.
Unfortunately, the transmission of information via the internet is not completely secure. Although we do our best to protect your Personal Data, we cannot guarantee the security of your Personal Data transmitted to our Platform. Any transmission of Personal Data is at your own risk. We are not responsible for circumvention of any privacy settings or security measures contained on the Platform.
Retention of Student Résumé and Messaging Data
For student users ages 13–17, we retain résumé information, internal messages with Shops, and related activity logs for as long as the account remains active and for a reasonable period afterward for security, auditing, and legal compliance purposes. If a parent or guardian requests deletion of a minor’s data, we will delete or de-identify résumé content, messaging history, and associated data unless retention is required by law (for example, for fraud prevention or legal compliance). We may also delete résumé and messaging data for inactive student accounts after a period of time in accordance with our internal retention policies.
Changes to Our Privacy Notice
We will post any changes to our Privacy Notice on our Platform. If we make material changes to our Privacy Notice, we may notify you of such changes through your primary email address and invite you to review the changes.
We may change this Privacy Notice at any time. It is our policy to post any changes we make to our Privacy Notice on this page. If we make material changes to how we treat our users’ Personal Data, we will notify you by email to the primary email address specified in your account or through a notice on the Platform’s home page. The date this Privacy Notice was last revised is identified at the top of the page. You are responsible for ensuring we have an up-to-date active and deliverable email address for you, and for periodically visiting our Platform and this Privacy Notice to check for any changes.
YOUR CONTINUED USE OF OUR PLATFORM FOLLOWING THE POSTING OF CHANGES CONSTITUTES YOUR ACCEPTANCE TO SUCH CHANGES.
