The Northwest Auto Care Alliance (NWACA) is partnering with ASE Connects—reinforcing its commitment to supporting the next generation of automotive technicians across the Northwest.
Representing a strong network of independent repair shops and industry professionals, NWACA has long prioritized workforce development and education. This partnership builds on that foundation by connecting members to a national initiative designed to make it easier to engage with local schools and students.
Connecting Industry and Education
ASE Connects—an initiative led by the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE) in partnership with WrenchWay—creates a more coordinated approach to building the future workforce.
Through a structured, nationwide effort, ASE Connects helps:
- Build a directory of every high school and all post-secondary schools with automotive, diesel, and/or collision programs
- Provide insights into school programs and student participation
- Make it easier for shops to support instructors
- Connect students with quality shops and dealerships
- Track career outcomes and strengthen efforts year after year
With NWACA’s involvement, shops across the Northwest now have a clearer path to engage with local schools and support future technicians.
Expanding Opportunities for NWACA Members
As part of the partnership, NWACA members receive discounted access to ASE Connects—making it easier to take a proactive approach to workforce development. Shop membership fees also help keep the platform free for schools—ensuring more programs and students can participate and connect with industry partners.
Through ASE Connects, members can:
- Get a real-time list of instructor requests
- Direct message with up-to-date instructors and school contacts
- Access profiles of students looking for work-based learning opportunities
- Manage all school relationships on one platform
- Access data on technician pay, benefits, labor rates, and more
A Shared Commitment to the Future
“NWACA has always been focused on supporting our members and strengthening the industry for the long term,” said Brenda Jorgenson, NWACA Executive Director. “ASE Connects provides a practical way for our members to engage with schools and help shape the future workforce.”
“When organizations like NWACA step forward, real progress happens,” said David Johnson, President & CEO at ASE. “Together, we can build a stronger, more connected technician pipeline.”
